Lack of qualified personnel affects maritime industry

The maritime industry faces great challenges and one is the lack of trained personnel to fill existing jobs and those generated by the Panama Canal expansion and the construction and upgrading of ports.

Central American countries arrange maritime search and rescue system

Recognizing the need to coordinate and implement a Central American maritime search and rescue system under the International Maritime Organization (IMO), representatives from seven countries met in Panama on February 8 and 9 to participate in the workshop “Introduction to the SAR Convention.”
