The University Centroamericana (CSUSA) approved the incorporation of the Panama International Maritime University (UMIP).

The Central American University Higher Council (CSUSA), the highest authority of the Central American University Confederation, approved the incorporation of the Panama International Maritime University (UMIP).

This is the agency of the public university system for integration of the region.

The decision was made by Council members during the Ninety-Fifth (XVC) Regular Session of the body, held recently at the Autonomous University of León, Nicaragua.

National newsbriefs CARGO INCREASES

Cargo movement in the national ports system showed an increase of 12.6% in the period from January to November, compared with the similar period of 2010. In the 11 months of 2011 the ports moved 33,478,059 metric tons, according to preliminary figures from the Comptroller’s Office.
