Government includes Colon Free Zone lot sale in budget

The Government included in the national budget of 2012 a capital inflow of $100 million from the sale of land in the Colon Free Zone; it was confirmed by the Minister of Economy, Frank De Lima. However, he also acknowledged that “we do not know how much will be raised in total because they have not made the commercial appraisals of the land.”

Panamanian $1.00 coin sells for $5.00 in europe

On the first day of its circulation, a German company bought 10,000 pieces of the Panamanian $1.00 coin for collectors’ sets and commercialization in the European market, announced José Ramón Fernández of the State Procurement and Contracting Unit of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
