New Board elected in Chamber of Shipping

Mr. Willys Delvalle has been elected as the new President of the Panama Chamber of Shipping and took possession at the Union Club. Members of the Board for the 2012-2013 periods were also chosen, but have not yet been appointed to the positions until their first meeting. The executive board is:

CMA-CGM ends cooperation with Maersk on Brazil service

The French shipping company CMA CGM will end its cooperation agreement with the Danish shipping company Maersk Line on the “Brazex” express service in Brazil by the end of October this year.

Hamburg Süd reconfigures Asia-Mexico route for high season

To cover high season demands, Hamburg Süd has reconfigured its service between Asia, Mexico and the West Coast of South America in conjunction with CCNI, China Shipping, Hanjin and Hyundai.

Losses pile up for Air France-KLM

Less freight and high fuel costs have damaged the performance of Air France- KLM.

Air France-KLM reported a net loss of $483 million during the first quarter of 2012, holding accountable the high fuel costs and reduction in the air cargo demand in what they called “a tough quarter”.
