Customs on track to have their “AEO”

In April 2013, the National Customs Authority (ANA) could have the figure of an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), which is promoted by the World Customs Organization (WCO) to facilitate international trade.

Expocomer 2013 launched

The Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) officially announced EXPOCOMER 2013, to be held from April17 to 20, 2013 at the Atlapa Convention Center.

“EXPOCOMER is more than a fair of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama, it is a national event. The commercial activity around the show provides impacts directly and indirectly to the formal and informal economy in many directions,” said Irvin Halman, President of the CCIAP.

MOL opens office in Peru

The Japan-based shipping company Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has opened offices in the Peruvian capital Lima, to consolidate its presence in the country.

The country was chosen because it shows more stable growth than other South American nations. With the new subsidiary, MOL will consolidate its business structure and further expand north-south containership routes to further improve customer services, according to a press release from the company.
