Colon-Cartagena ferry awaits permission to begin operations

The Colon-to-Cartagena ferry service that was announced in an April edition of The Visitor has not yet commenced. According to representatives of the ferry, the delay is due to a requirement needed in order to launch the service. Maritime Chamber President optimistic but gives warnings

In his address to members of the Panama Chamber of Shipping on taking office, the President of the guild, Willys Delvalle, made some encouraging predictions on Panama as a logistics hub and, at the same time, issued some warnings.

Mr. Delvalle is general manager of the shipping company APL in Panama.
