First “monolith” completed on Pacific lock

A new milestone was reached in the Canal expansion with completion of the first monolith on the Pacific side.

The monolith is one of the sections that divide the construction of the walls of the locks. The finished structure is the first of a total of 46 being built in the upper section of the Pacific locks. Its construction required 232 tons of reinforcing steel and 2,605 cubic meters of concrete.

AMP participates in fair on Taboga Island

The Panama Maritime Authority participated successfully in the Nineteenth Community Services Fair on Taboga Island, also attended by thirty State institutions offering free government services.

Thousands of residents, including hundreds of tourists, visited this exhibition and saw first-hand the various opportunities and services offered by State institutions that presented how the national government gives contributions to different areas of the country.

Shrimp exporters seek support

A group of shrimp exporters of the province of Cocle have requested the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MICI) for more support for exports.

They consider they face limitations, and according to the shrimp breeders restrictions in some countries prevent them from adequately making deliveries, affecting their profits.
