SIMA Shipyards delivers bunker barges and tugs for Panama Canal

The Peruvian Defence Minister, Pedro Cateriano, highlighted the role of the Navy Industrial Services (SIMA) in the shipbuilding industry worldwide and the maintaining of strategic partnerships for the benefit of countries in the region.

In this context, he welcomed the alliance between SIMA and the Panama Canal Authority, expressed in the delivery of modern fuel barges and tugs built in the shipyards of the company in Peru.

The amount of the order totaled approximately $60 million.

The SIMA is still the leader in the marine and metalworking industry in the region and has been serving countries and private corporations with cutting-edge infrastructure and skilled labor for construction and ship repair of low and high freeboard in their shipyards of Callao, Chimbote and Iquitos.
