Panama and Lufthansa will sign agreement to boost tourism

The Cabinet Council authorized the Panama Tourism Authority to sign a Shared Publicity Agreement for $8.5 million with the German company, Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaf, to promote Panama as a tourist and commercial destination in Europe.

Panama and Lufthansa will sign  agreement to boost tourismThis agreement was negotiated during the recent visit of the President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela, with Lufthansa’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jens Bischof, with the idea of increasing the volume of traffic between Europe and Panama and at the same time encouraging Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft travelers to visit the Isthmus as a holiday and business destination. The contract establishes that the ATP will invest $4.25 million and the airline will put the same amount of money into the project.

The ATP administrator, Gustavo Him, said that the company, Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft, better known as the Lufthansa Group, is a conglomerate of companies with worldwide operations, transporting passengers and cargo, as well as offering services related to maintenance and repair of aircraft, catering and information technology services.

Him pointed out that through this agreement Panama will be able to be part of the congress and convention destinations, as well as make alliances with travel agencies, tour operators, multinational companies and media and small enterprises (PYMES) in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
