At the moment Wingo does not plan to fly to a new destination, but in the next fifteen days frequencies will increase from the Panama Pacifico International Airport, located in the Panama Pacífico Special Economic Area, 15 minutes from downtown Panama and 30 minutes from the beaches of the Pacific.

“From July to March, frequencies will increase, from Panama to Cali from two to three frequencies a week, from Panama to Medellin from four to five and Panama-Bogota to a daily flight,” said Maria Camila Bernal, marketing director of Wingo.

Wingo has carried 47,532 passengers to and from Panama in the past six months. Of these, 47,352, 37,193 have been passengers traveling between the Panama – Colombia – Panama route and 10,339 passengers on the Panama – Costa Rica – Panama route. This means that 78% of all passengers transported to and from Panama are on the Panama – Colombia – Panama route and 22% travel on the Panama – Costa Rica – Panama route.

The average flight occupation reported by the airline on routes to and from Panama is over 72% from December to May reaching levels above 80% in high season.

“We were certain that our product would satisfy the needs of a different type of traveler in Panama and Latin America and after six months of operation, we can verify this. Our sales to date exceed $38 million, represented in 3,257 flights,” said María Camila Bernal.

“And when we speak of a different type of traveler, it is a traveler who appreciates that they do not impose on him, that he wants to fly well without paying more and, more importantly, that he wants to be satisfied. After our first semester in the market, we achieved a cumulative compliance rate of 99.9% and punctuality above 93%. This supports our promise of service because at Wingo we do it,” she said.
