AMP receives visit of US Coast Guard delegates

The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) received a visit of a delegation from the US Coast Guard Service (USCG) with the purpose of exchanging experiences and strengthening existing collaboration ties, to the benefit of maritime security in territorial waters.

The Director of Ports and Auxiliary Maritime Industries of the AMP, Guimara Tuñón, with her work team, were in charge of hosting the delegation of the USCG, among including the Director of Inspection and Compliance, Captain Jennifer Williams.

“In the port facilities of the country we have made important advances, among which are the increase of their security standards, which is highlighted, with a view to an effective compliance with the Ship and Port Facilities Protection Code (ISPS),” said Director Tuñón.

The Head of the USCG Mission, Lieutenant Commander Timothy J. Kulzer, pledged to maintain the communication channels to continue exchanging information between both institutions and described as excellent the management carried out by the AMP, during his visit to the port facilities of Bocas Fruit Co., Almirante: Panama Ports, Balboa and Panama Ports, Cristobal.
