Free Zone manager participates at opening of Gatun lookout

Mr. Leopoldo Benedetti, Manager of the Colon Free Zone, and Deputy Manager, Mario Figueroa, attended the inauguration of the Lookout for the Third set of locks, on the banks of the Panama Canal at Gatun.

Benedetti said that the work being done on the Canal is admirable and continues with investments to improve the country.

Brazil plans huge investment in roads, ports and railways

The investment program of Brazil, a giant in raw materials, seeks to increase the capacity of its seaports which could exceed $15 billion, has been reported.

Colon Free Zone manager presents budget for 2013

The sum of $10 million has been provided for investment in the Colon Free Zone in 2013, said the zone’s manager, Leopoldo Benedetti, after appearing at the Budget Committee of the National Assembly.

In his presentation, Benedetti reported that next year this entity will receive a budget cut of $3 million in investment, but said that in 2013 there are plans to develop a number of major projects for the area.
