Children’s park opened with help of Colon Free Zone

For 11 years the residents of the Guna Yala district of Cativa were awaiting the construction of a Children’s Park, and now their dream has come true with its opening, to the delight of children, youths and adults in the sector.

Leopoldo Benedetti, Manager of the Colon Free Zone (ZLC) said that these projects are very beneficial for children and helps them grow and develop in an atmosphere of healthy recreation.

The ZLC manager announced that the free zone will be building two more recreation parks in Cativa and similarly, in other townships for their children.

The president of the Guna community, Algeria Esquivel, expressed here happiness and thanked the free zone management that built and designed this recreational area, reporting that through the women’s committee they will carry out maintenance and appealed to mothers to accompany their children to the park and keep the area clean.

This project was carried out with an amount of $60,000 and has perimeter fencing, basketball and football areas, trapezes, swings and slippery dips, thatched gazebos, bleachers and green areas.
