The Colon Free Zone Engineering and Maintenance Department is making critical improvements for traffic flow within the area.
Jose Donado, Director of Engineering and Maintenance, explained that several years ago “C” street, between 18th Street and the road leading to the Silvio Salazar Bridge was flooded, and therefore improvements are being made to solve the problem.
“In charge of carrying out this work is Cesar Robles, with a budget of $140,000, supervised by the Engineering Department. Added to this maintenance is that of the pumping station in front of the administration building, complementing the work to prevent future flooding in the area,” says a communiqué of the Free Zone.
“It is expected that within 60 calendar days the repair of the road will be finished, after which there will be construction of storm water channels and in 15 days there will be a soil compaction test.
“To compensate for the work on ‘C’ Street, ‘B’ street will be a two-way street for the duration of the repair work.”
