The grand opening of the Maritime Week of the Americas conference – MWA Bunkers or MWA Ports – Intermodal will take place on Tuesday May 22, at the Hotel Riu in Panama City.
The environment remains a key factor in international trade and, with the arrival of the North American Emissions Control Area (ECA), the quest to find viable, green alternative fuels is intensifying. One session will look at the likely impact of the newest ECA and at liquefied natural gas (LNG), a leading contender as an alternative marine fuel.
Regional trends in fuel quality will be examined, as will fuel management and dealing with off-spec fuels. One session will look closely at what is happening in specific regional markets, from sourcing lower sulphur fuels for trading inside the new ECA, to the development of new terminals in the Caribbean. It will also examine developments in the cruise industry.
