The Expocomer trade fair, organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) last week celebrated its 30th anniversary.
This annual event offers great business opportunities and attracts hundreds of companies, independent agents and potential clients.
This year more than 500 companies participated from 30 countries of America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
As well as being a location where visitors can find virtually everything, it coordinates business meetings between exhibitors and buyers. At the 2011 edition there were 12,633 business contacts made and more than 4,420 business meetings held.
This year, the goal was to exceed 12,633 contacts and the signing of business contracts worth close to $130 million.
Expocomer is not just a show. Each year it offers new options for attracting visitors, said Juan Jose Vallarino, President of the 2012 event. “Almost since its inception, we have seen in Expocomer its evolution, and each version has become more professional in a special way for both exhibitors and buyers to carry out major trading,” he said.
This time in addition to generating an intense nerworking, the fair offered an economic forum called ‘Panama: Challenges and Opportunities in search of a common agenda for development’. Several experts in economics and finance assessed the effects of the economic and financial crisis in the region to identify opportunities that will benefit Panama.
