New York Express delivered to Hapag Lloyd

Hapag-Lloyd has taken delivery of the New York Express, the second of its new building program of ten ships of 13,169 teu.

The contract was concluded in December 2010 with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).

Four of the ships were originally ordered while the six other contracts resulted from an upgrade of an order for six 8,750 teu vessels initially ordered in February 2008.

The deliveries of these ten vessels are spread over a 16 months period, with the tenth ship planned to come on stream in Q3 2013.

The New York Express is to join the G6 Asia-Europe Loop
