Panama becomes site of international congresses

In the next two weeks Panama will be the site of international congresses that are expected to create great interest.

From April 18 to 20, 2012, at the Hotel Westin Playa Bonita, the “International Engineering and Infrastructure Congress” will be held. It will feature some big names, such as Frederic S. Berger, President of the Louis Berger Group, Inc (LBG), Alberto Alemán Zubieta, Administrator of the Panama Canal Authority, Lee McIntire, President and Executive Director of CH2M Hill, and Steven L. Stockton, Director of Civil Works of the US Army Corps of Engineers. Among the subjects they will emphasize are the assurances of quality in the Panama Canal Expansion, Requirements for Seismic design of the structures of the Canal expansion as well as other important global engineering challenges, such as administration of natural risks in mega infrastructure projects.

On April 25, at the Hotel Riu in Panama City, the Logistic Forum “What we are going to do in Panama to attract more than one thousand logistics companies in the next 10 years” will take place. The congress begins at 8.00 a.m., and will analyze the alternatives for Panama to be consolidated as the most important logistic center of the region. This forum will have the participation of exhibitors, experts on the topic of logistics and important national and international guests.

One day later, on April 26, and also at the Hotel Riu, there will be the forum “The Bunkering Industry: Present and Future with the Expanded Canal”. The conferences will begin at 8 a.m., and the implications of the activities will be analyzed and also their influence on the environment.
