South African delegation visits the Colon Free Zone

The Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Marius Fransman, was greeted on his visit to the Colon Free Zone by Free Zone manager, Mr. Leopoldo Benedetti, to address trade issues and strengthen ties between the two entities.

Francisco Alvarez De Soto, Deputy Foreign Minister of Panama, said that the South African delegation met with Benedetti to learn about the operational services, growth of the commercial movements and transparency of transactions carried out.

Benedetti reported that the meeting with the representatives of South Africa was a great opportunity for the two countries.

The delegation was shown Free Zone facilities such as surveillance methods, the banks operating in the area, the procedure for conducting business transactions and how to distribute their goods to 400 million people.

This delegation included Ambassador Juan Carlos Espinoza, Director of Foreign Policy and Rodrigo Chiari, Ambassador of Panama in South Africa, among others.
